The Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT are well-designed foldable, Bluetooth headphones that have a friendly price tag and provide sound solutions that bass lovers will surely get a kick from. While Sennheiser’s success with Bluetooth headphones has not been as significant as its achievement in the headphone and pro audio department, the Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT is a synthesis of what the manufacturer aims to offer to a more specific segment through this wireless pair.
With its $149 price tag, the Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT has a strong minimalist design that makes it a strong competition in comparison to other headphones in the Bluetooth wireless group. It’s usually compared to the Sony WH-CH700N, its closest competitor. The Sennheiser HD 4.40 isn’t all about wireless design and comfort, it also offers a superb sound experience for bass lovers.
Sennheiser HD 4.40 Design
The Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT has an over-ear, foldable closed back design in an all matte, black leatherette finish. The earpads of the headset are comfortable although it’s not really made for long periods of usage playing computer or mobile games, watching YouTube videos or your favorite TV series. While the plastic material of the headband could use more padding, it’s not that big a deal and a little adjusting can provide some solutions.
There are various control buttons on the side panel of the right ear cup, including the power button, play buttons and track navigation. Said button also manages voice controls and answers/rejects a phone call on your mobile phone. The Sennheiser HD 4.40 also has a dedicated volume rocker that works in sync with a mobile device. The right earcup is also where the micro USB charging cable is connected.
The Sennheiser HD 4.40 also has a dual omnidirectional mic that provides better call quality when voice control is used. The microphone may tend to sound a little far away and the sound integrity has a tendency to break along with Bluetooth audio degradation.
Sennheiser HD 4.40 Battery Life
The battery life of the Sennheiser HD 4.40 runs for about 25 hours depending on volume levels. Aside from the audio and charging cables, the Sennheiser HD 4.40 also has a black, drawstring carrying pouch.
Sennheiser HD. 4.40 Performance
In terms of frequency response, the Sennheiser HD 4.40 has a mediocre performance. The sound quality is not really for purists, but the bass offers a rich depth that goes all the way to the subwoofer realm, making it perfect for bass lovers who enjoy casual listening.
